Question : Need help finding driver for Intel DQ35JOE Motherboard running SBS 2K3 Standard
|
|
I have a small server that I'm building and I'm having problems finding a driver for it. I've downloaded and or installed all available drivers. I'm aware that the MOBO I'm using isn't approved for SBS but I know from past experience other "non approved" boards will work just fine using the Windows XP Pro drivers.
I have sound, video NIC, etc. Everything seems to be working just fine. However I have one item in my device manager that I can't find a driver for. its listed as PCI Simple Communications Controller. I've listed the machines SPEC's below. Thanks in advance.
Intel Q6600 CPU 2GG PC800 RAM Intel DQ35JOE MOBO 2 x 1TB Seagate SATA HD's (32MB Cache) SATA Optical Drive (DVDRW) SBS 2K3 Std ANTEC EarthWatts PSU (430W)

They are exe files rather than driver inf files therefore if they don't install I think you are out of luck. You can try to keep pointing at different folders until it sees an inf file, but I am doubtful it will work. Have you considered using a proper server board? Intel have some reasonably priced boards called "entry level server" motherboards, and several of the processors are interchangeable. The other possibility is to ignore it. It is not necessary, but you will keep getting the pop up.
