Question : Outlook 2002 - Can't create mail profile
|
|
I had the bright idea to do a Windows update on my microsoft Office installation. I have Microsoft Outlook 2002 and the update added SP3. After restarting my computer and starting Outlook I received the error "Operation Failed" every time I tried to Send/Receive.
So, I researched the subject and found some documentation that suggested adding a new profile via the Mail Icon in the Control Panel. When I went I tried to click "Add" nothing happened so I "removed" the existing profile with the hopes of being able to add a new one but now I have no profile and when I click "Add" nothing happens. Now I cannot start Outlook at all. How can I add a profile when the "Add" profile button does not work?

Hello merimax,
SP3 for Outlook 2002 should not be a problem. It has been around for awhile. Backup your PST and reinstall Outlook. PST file is located in C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook folder. It is a hidden file, so you have to unhide hidden files. Open Windows Explorer folder and select Tools > Folders Options > View. Check "Show hidden files and folders". Click OK.
Hope this helps! war1
