Question : Real Media files missing sound.

I use Applian's WMR recorder to capture streaming .rm files and have done so for months with no problems.

Over the weekend I re-installed my PC (XP Pro SP3 C2D E6750) and now although I capture the files OK, and they 'play' there is no sound ;-(

I use Real Alternative 8.0 rather than the bloated Realmedia.

I tried playing the files on my laptop and I get a weird buffering 99%/playing/buffering 99% , but no sound.

I installed WMR on my laptop and they record and play OK, AND the .rm files play fine on my PC.

Stuck for an answer.

Answer : Real Media files missing sound.

Seems to me the problem here is you must play the file in RM player on their site,
are you capturing an  RM audio file using WMR?
if you wish to close this question I can assist you outside of it.
it maybe quicker to run tests via emails.
WM Recorder can record streaming Windows Media (asf, wmv, wma, asx, wmx, wvx, wax, wvx, wax) streamed through the following protocols:
HTTP
MMS
RTSP
WM Recorder can NOT record:
Content protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM). Such content can be recorder using Screen capture software only.
Real Player streams (See RM Recorder for more).
