Question : A selected word is not overwritten in Word & Outlook

Hi,

I work with Office 2003 for a lot of time now, and suddenly, out of the blue, a new phenomenon started: When  I select a text and write something (in order to delete the selected text and write something else instead) the selected text is not overwritten, but instead moves to the right and the new text is written to the left of the selected text.
It does not happen in Internet Explorer or in other editors (notepad) but only in Office.

Any idea anyone?

Answer : A selected word is not overwritten in Word & Outlook

There is an option: (Tools/Options, Edit tab) called 'Typing replaces selection'. It sounds as if the tick for that has gone missing
