Question : Word crashes randomly when trying to print labels
After having tried everything I could think of I am turning to you guys - the experts. A user in my company (>400 users) is attempting to print generic labels usigng a template in Word (non-Avery). Whn he prints Word crashes and gives no information just the good old 'send or don't send t his information' crap and whether you clisk to send or don't send it automatically restarts Word and offers to 'recover' the label document as it was. We've chosen to recover, not recover - no difference. We've printed same labels from 2 other machines - no problems. We've printed to a second printer - same crash occurs We've replaced & reinstalled drivers for printer - still crashes We've had that label doc saved and opened on another PC with Office 2003 - prints fine We've had that label doc saved and opened on another PC with Office 2007 - prints fine We've had that same PC created other labels on that PC - prints fine We've renamed that same file and attempted to print on that PC - still crashes We rebuilt the users profile on this Win XP Machine The only thing we have not done is reformat the machine Please help...

Answer : Word crashes randomly when trying to print labels

Verify that the User Name field on the Word Options > Popular pane has something in it. Several strange errors occur with Word 2007 if this field is blank or contains only spaces. Populate the field, save your changes and see if that helps.
