Question : Outlook Anywhere Certificate Issue
|
|
I have installed Windows SBS R2 Enterprise and configured it for Outlook Web Access, Outlook Mobile Access, and Outlook via Internet with the Internet connection Wizard. I purchased and installed a certificate from GoDaddy.com for my server hermes.browndogstudio.net. Outlook on the internal network works, as does OWA and OMA on our Windows Mobile phones.
When I set up Outlook 2007 on several different clients and try to connect across the Internet via Outlook Anywhere, I get an error:
There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the target site hermes.browndogstudio.net. (Error Code 0)
I have the clients set correctly (https//hermes.browndogstudio.net and msstd:hermes.browndogstudio.net) but i get that error and a credentials prompt.
I will admit, I have imported several GoDaddy intermediate certificates and intalled them to different locations, I have no idea how to proceed.

I have managed to set up a similar configuration, with both SBS standard & premium. If you arfe running premium, you will need to install your certificate on ISA, not IIS, as ISA proxies incoming SLL connections. Easiest way to do this is rerunning the "Connect to the internet" wizard, from the SBS console, specifying the cert you would like to use.
