Question : Covar function in MS SQL

Hi,

I am tryting to duplicate use Excel's Covariance function in SQL.  I have heard that the best (maybe only way to do this is to use a User defined function.  I am completely lost on how to do this.

BTW, I am using MS SQL 2000.  Thanks!  The answer to this question is needed urgently.
