Question : TOUCHPAD and 2 out of 3 USB ports stopped working after opening laptop to clean dust!

I recently opened my Toshiba M40 laptop in order to clean some dust off the CPU fan. I though I was being very careful, however once I put everything back together my touchpad stopped working and so did two of my side USB ports. Before I open in back up, can anyone suggest what might have happened?
