Question : Exporting individual mail files from an EDB

I have an EDB file on tape that I need to extract individual mailboxes from.  The issue is that some of these mailboxes are larger than 6 GB (over the lovely 2GB PST limit).

Since the EDB is not the active storage group (it's an old backup of the current storage group) and with the 2GB limit, I THINK (although I would love to be wrong) EXMERGE won't help me.

What is the best way of extracting these large mailboxes into a format I can transport and open in preferably outlook?

Thank you for your assistance?

Answer : Exporting individual mail files from an EDB

Hi,

You should recover your database backup to the RSG and then you can use exmerge to export the mailbox by selecting some folders at a time not all in one go and rename the PST file each time so that you end up with multiple PST's that each have different parts of the mailbox.
