Question : Exchange 2003. IMF. Nothing being filtered.

Humph. I've been sitting here fat, dumb, and happy thinking that mesages were being filtered and decided to switch to Archive instead of Delete to see what the traffic was. This morning I checked my queue (changed to c:\IMFArchive) and there was nothing there. Looked at what should be the default queue \exchsrvr\mailroot etc to see if things were going there and that directory isn't even present. I have a I have SCL values of 5 in Gateway Blocking and for Users' junk mail configuration. I ran across th heading "How to Enable Intelligent Message Filtering" in the Microsoft IMF Ops Guide, but it seems to apply only Virtual Servers; mine is a single mailbox server. I check out the Enable steps anyway and I don't have an "Advanced" thing to click on the General tab anyway. (Does this show up only on virtual server boxes?) After all this bit about setting up IMF, is there something else I'm supposed to do on a mailbox server to enable it, and if so, where and how?
I made some changes to the Exchange Registry to enable automatic updates and this is what I have now ArchiveDir - C:\IMFArchive ArchiveSCL - 1 ContentFilterState - 1 ContentFilterVersion - 0 (Hmm 0?) DisableErrorReporting - 1 DWAllowHeadless - 1 ErrorReportingServer - watson.microsoft.com Server Language - hex409 (1033)
No wonder I've been inundated by spam if filtering isn't working at all. I've been using Sender and Recipient filtering for a long time and just starting with IMF.
Any clues anyone?
Thanks, Ron Hicks
