Question : Can't find source of spam on network
|
|
Hi all,
I'm having trouble figuring out why my IP address keeps ending up on spam block lists. We run MS/Exchange 2003, a Sonic Wall TZ170 firewall and have 18 PCs on the network.
I initially ran full AV scans on all PCs and a couple of viruses were found. I removed them and ran full AV scans again to confirm they were clean. I thought this would be the problem, so on Friday I applied for and managed to get removed from all of the lists by Saturday. However, this morning I'm back on the lists and they're showing that spam came from my IP address as recently as this morning. I implemented an Exchange log scanning tool and it shows that a number of incoming messages were received, but ZERO outbound messages other than the one the log scanning program sends to me.
Any idea where this could be coming from and how to shut it down?
Thanks,
Tom

i would suggest to goto for a free firewall on your own machine like zonealarm , or maybe a paid tool like kaspersky internet secuirty or zone alarm pro .. anyways,.. so you can monitor your outgoing connections yourself. And allow what you need and block others. that way you would be having an instant monitoring of your in/out connections.
if you found out there is somthing wrong you can then use the suitable removal tool for that worm. or even it may show if there is somthing wrong with the exchange server.
i hope that works for you
waiting for your reply
