Question : Ghost won't let me create a new scheduled backup even though all backup jobs have been deleted.

In the Ghost console I deleted the previous scheduled backup job and then tried to create a new scheduled backup job. The C drive still shows the scheduled icon. I've rebooted numerous times over the last couple of days with no change. I'm running XP Pro. I have not tried uninstalling and re-installing. I was hesitant to do this since I believe I got Ghost from one of the versions of Norton SystemWorks I've had over the years. I only have the disk for the last one, Norton SystemWorks Premier 2005. I looked on the disk and the Ghost folder had some files or .txt saying Ghost 2003...

I found the agent log? in the agent folder. Last few entriies are below. (not sure what event log it couldn't write to but I have a different question posted for that). I posted more of the log with some other errors that may be relevant in the Code Snippet section. I replaced my 120GB D: drive with a 1TB drive that I partitioned in half to a D: and E: drive. I used Ghost to copy the old D: drive, put in the new drive, partitioned the E: drive on it and then used Ghost to restore the D: drive partition using the "fill unallocated space" option. The E: drive used to be my external Maxtor drive which is now the L: drive. I wanted to change the backup job to put the backup on the new E: drive and limit file sizes to 2GB (plan to use Carbonite to back up those online).

SystemWorks 2003 provided you with Ghost 2003 - I know, because I've used it. Ghost 9.0 was released in 2004 and is included in SystemWorks 2005: http://www.symantec.com/press/2004/n040914a.html. If you have the install disc for SystemWorks 2005 and it is not just an upgrade, you can remove all instances and reinstall. Unfortunately, Ghost 9 is not backward compatible with previous versions and won't restore older archives.

I would also not use GoBack, as it introduces it's own partitioning scheme and could make your drive unrecoverable by most utilities if it fails.
