Question : SMB over VPN Troubles
Ok, what is going on? I have an offsite Windows Server 2003 R2 connecting via software VPN (SoftNet MUVPN) via a Watchguard Firebox. The offsite server can see the file shares at the office but the servers at the office cannot see the file shares on the offsite server via network neighborhood. DNS and WINS are pointing to the correct IP address... but even if I put in the \\ into explorer it says it cannot find it. I can ping the name and the ip just fine from the office. What more does SMB need to properly connect over VPN?

Look at firewall on the Firebox rules. You need to open port 445 for sure. Your problem suggests, that incoming traffic is blocked to your offsite server, so you can browse shares FROM the server, but cannot do anything TO this server. Also, don't you have any software firewall running on the offsite machine?
