Question : GNU Mailman Alternative

I have an outdated installation of GNU Mailman on an outdated Linux box. Recently it's been giving my organization a ton of problems, the log files aren't really reporting any useful information, and in the past 6 months it's been a classic case of too many cooks in the kitchen all trying to fix and administer it.

I'm starting to offload the duties of that linux machine to a Windows 2003 server. The one thing I can't seem to find a suitable replacement for is our GNU Mailman software. We're a school so the obvious advantage of GNU Mailman was that it was free.

We use Exchange 2003 Server, and used Mailman because we could make lists like "[email protected]rg". I would log into Mailman, add the parents to the interface, and from on or offsite I could send an email to "[email protected]rg" and have it sent out. Inside of Exchange, I would create an External Email address of "freshman-parents@linuxserver.school.org" so it would show up in the address book.

So what I am looking for is an alternative to Mailman, that runs on Windows, which affords me the same type of functionality. We really don't use Mailman as an actual listserv - meaning we don't hold discussions through it, 99% of the time it's for the ease of sending out information in bulk. I do like how it appends [Freshman Class] to the subjects of outgoing messages though, and the web-based front end is nice because I can give a few teachers the ability to administer it when I'm away, such as approving non-member posts, etc.

Any ideas or advice on what other projects or products I can test out? Or creative ways I can configure Exchange 2003 to peform the key parts of Mailman's duties for me?

Thanks in advance..

Answer : GNU Mailman Alternative

Dadamail http://mojo.skazat.com/ could be an alternative, but I don't like perl :P

Or you might try http://www.harrysufehmi.com/phpwiki/index.php/PhpMailman?action=BackLinks (phpmailman), it should be able to run under windows.
