Question : Synchronize Exchange Public Folders and GAL
Is there a way to either access Exchange Public Folder contacts from Windows Mobile devices or properly one-way-synchronize contacts from Public Folders to the GAL?
There are various posts ("should not use GAL for contacts", Add2Exchange) but I did not find a good solution.
Maybe it's easier to understand our goals:
1) Around 4000 Contacts should be managed at one place by assistants (conclusion: only public foldera)
2) Contacts must be available in Outlook (not an issue) and Windows Mobile over-the-air (don't want to use a sync tool on PCs to copy all contacts to local Outlook
Answer : Synchronize Exchange Public Folders and GAL
How about putting the contacts in Active Directory instead of a public folder? Mail enable them and they will show up in the GAL. You should be able to delegate those permissions to users than need to manage the contacts.
