Question : Setup RPC over Http Single Exchange server

I need to setup RPC over http for my company, and I down loaded a doc from Microsoft called, "Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 RPC over Http Deployment Scenarios."

This is what I have:

1 Exchange server
1 FSMO role holder domain controller main site
2 Domain Controllers at remote sites
12 Member servers
50 Workstations

I skimmed the Microsoft Doc, and I am not sure what pertains to my situation.  I also found the Petri article and he references multiple servers V.S. single server.  In the multiple server scenario, which I have, it seems like you have to add another Exchange Server to complete the functionality of RPC over HTTP.  To me, this seems like over kill for an organization of my size. Do I have the correct understanding or did miss something.  Is there an easier way to set this up?

Thanks very much for the help.

Rick

Answer : Setup RPC over Http Single Exchange server

Microsoft seems to want users to either have an SBS server or a fe/be scenario.
You are using a single server with a separate domain controller. That just means there are registry entries to be made on the domain controller and the Exchange server.

My guide is here: http://www.amset.info/exchange/rpc-http.asp

The key is to ensure that you have a commercial SSL certificate and meet the strict requirements of the feature - Exchange 2003 on Windows 2003, Windows 2003 domain controllers, Windows XP SP2 and Outlook 2003 or higher.
