Question : Copy contents of variable to clipboard in oracle forms

I have a listview in oracle forms and from that am able to grab a piece of data from a field in a record. I can put that in to a variable but want to know how to get in the clipboard. This is to allow the user to use the results in a search screen to change data in an update screen with minimal fuss and effort.
