Question : Ms Access 2003 - How can I close a corrupted .ldb file

I am using MS Access SP2 Application where users can login and record information.  Often users forget to log out and in doing so corrupt the .LDB. If I could close the LDB file I could open the MDB file and compact and repair it . I tried to delete the ldb file but it will not let you delete it.
I do have code that detects idle time in an MS Access database and when there is 10 minutes of idle time elapsed closes the database on the user, However, it was not installed on this MDB file.

Question: Is there a way to close an ldb file and then I can delete the corrupted. The file sits on a server.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Access actually 'closes' the LDB file.   Close all MDB's, then try rebooting the system that contains the LDB. At this point, you should be able to delete it.

Not really sure an LDB becomes corrupt per se.  It may become 'orphaned', due to an abnormal closer of an MDB.
