Question : Download 'hangs' when downloading mp4 file

When downloading  MP4 files using 'Internet Explorer', the process starts off OK and then appears to 'hang' half way through.  The animated icon continues, but the progress bar stops and the estimated time doesn't update.  File size is typically 150Mb.

What could be causing this?

Your internet connection could be slow or there is heavy internet traffic.  The download gets lost during the download. Use a faster internet connection or wait for a less busy time of day to download.

Find a faster download site.  Use a mirror site closer to your computer.

Your antivirus could be checking the downloaded file and slowing the process.  Temporarily disable antivirus program and then download the MP4 file.
