Question : Exchange Monitoring
|
|
Ok here's my scenario.
I have a boss (actually he's the owner of the company) who obviously receives email in hoards. His secretary also receives those email via his mailbox. The problem is that what she deems unimportant to the boss she deletes and therefore he never sees these emails. Some of these emails are about her and her work habits, etc etc etc. I need to be able to monitor that mailbox without anyone (I am the network/exchange admin so I've got all the god rights to the mail servers and my direct supervisor is actually the one who wants this done) knowing about it. I do have read receipts and delivery receipts turned on for all mail delivery on the exchange servers so a typical scenario of creating a hidden mailbox and having everything delivered to that mailbox I don't think will work because if mail is ever deleted out of it or read then receipts are returned.
I need to be able to monitor that mailbox and find out exactly what she is deleting. I also do not want to enable the deleted items retention features. I am relatively familiar with Exchange and it's operations and functions however I am not an Exchange Guru. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance Todd

Ok if u really want to moniter that specific mailbox without anyone knowing about it then go to ur first storage group and create a new mailbox store and move ur bosses mailbox over. Then go to that newly created mailbox store properties page and u will see the option to archive all the messages send and recived bla bla, enable that box and choose a mailbox to recive those archived messages. Now u will have exact copy of all the messages send and recived. U could also create personal folder in ur second mailbox and ask oulook to deliver messages to ur personal folder and if i am not mistaken those reciepts wont be sent if u open emails in ur personal folders.
