Question : Unable to load client print protocol

Hi guys!

I've got a MS reporting services report that i want to print straight from ie. When i open the report and click on the printer button, it comes up with an error message that says "Unable to load client print protocol". What does this mean and how can this be fixed?

Answer : Unable to load client print protocol

Hi RWrigley!

I solved this yesterday by looking at my own pc. What this is, is an active X control required by the browser called "MS SQL Server" add-on. This is used to print the report directly to the printer.

I received this message cause the computer i was working on was on a domain, and i wasn't logged in as administrator. The browser will, with default settings, prompt you that the action you're trying to do (print the report) requires the activeX component, and also ask you if you want to install it.

Logged in as Administrator as per the ms support webiste, and worked like a charm...

Thanx anyway for the quick response...

Regards,
K
