Question : No Sound Effects in Windows Media Center for Vista and no Sound on TV

I'm not sure what happened but yesturday when I went to use my vista media center PC I couldn't hear any sound effects in the Media center gui, and no sound in the TV, or recorded TV areas. Videos, Music etc are all still working fine. If I back out into vista, then the sound seems to work fine in that I hear all the windows sounds fine.
2 windows updates were installed the night before but I'm not even sure that that is when the problem started. I uninstalled the updates with no luck
I used system restore to go back 5 days when I know it was working - no luck

Any ideas?

Answer : No Sound Effects in Windows Media Center for Vista and no Sound on TV

Start by reinstalling your sound card drivers then if it still does not work do a repair install of windows.
