Question : Debug Windows Photo Gallery

While updating thumbnails, the program crashes, with the following:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\...
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
Is there a simple way I can debug the software by creating a file of the thumbnails it's updating? Then, when it crashes, presumably I can find the "offending" file(s).
