Answer : 500 line too long

Well that isn't an Exchange server answering...

If I telnet to that domain I get this:

220 mail.kbkinsgroup.com ESMTP Service ready
elo
500 Syntax error, command unrecognized
ehlo domain.net
250-Requested mail action okay, completed
250-SIZE 20000000
250-ETRN
250-8BITMIME
250-AUTH GSSAPI NTLM LOGIN
250-AUTH=LOGIN
250 OK

I should get this:

220 mail.domain.net Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service, Version: 6.0.3790.1830 ready at
  Wed, 18 Oct 2006 23:39:39 +0100

250-AUTH GSSAPI NTLM LOGIN

250 OK

Therefore something else is answering SMTP traffic for you and is the cause of the problems. Firewall, anti virus and anti spam applications are the usual suspects.

Simon.
