Question : What is EVENT ID: 1003?

I have looking on the Microsoft Knowledge Base for Event id: 1003 but I can not find anything!    My computer keeps restarting by itself and when I check "Event Viewer", it shows me some paramaters and memory locations.    Does anyone know what causes "Event ID: 1003"?

Thanks

Answer : What is EVENT ID: 1003?

Well if you are still looking for what this error is I don't have an answer but i have a solution.

I'm assuming that this is in XP and you get a System has recovered from a serious problem on startup.

Even Microsoft doesn't list what a Event ID: 1003 is.

What usually causes this is a program on startup looking for a resource and failing.

First step is to check the event log and findout what is failing.

It's usualy a program that is in the startup folder or is marked to auto start on boot.

For instance: FACsys software was in the startup folder and was looking for a Time Server (w32time using NTP Client) and was on an NT 4.0 network where the server didn't have auto time sync. So the machine would get this error ID everytime you logged into the box.

Hope this clears some things up or helps someone out.
