Question : HOW TO make a text field unchangeable - using spry framework?

I have a text field that is pull out by a server script with some data.
What I want is to not allow changes on that text field. (so why we have a text-field?, don't ask It's that sever script that puts him there) anyway, I'd like the user to keep that information and just don't allow changes on that text field.

How can we accomplish this using spry framework ?
(I'm on dreamweaver doing this)
