Question : how to unzip .ird from my mackbookpro

Hi,

Today is my third day with Mac, I bought a new Macbookpro just three day ago, and now I faced to a small iussue, and here is my problem.

I have downloaded a firmware from a website, after the download is completed, I can not open the file. The format of the file is .IRD

I guess this is a compressing file, so how can I open this file and copy to my USB key?

Please show me how , more details more appreciated.
