Question : Command Prompt NTVDM encountered a hard error.

Experts,
I am running windows server 2003 with the most current updated service packs. Any time i run a command in command prompt i recive an error "NTVDM encountered a hard error" if i choose to ignore the error it just exits the command.
Example:
c:\> ping yahoo.com [ENTER]
(Alert: "NTVDM encountered a hard error" available options="Close or Ignore")

I have tried running
"SFC /scannow" restoring files from the system CD and restarting but that  didn't work.
Any ideas..... please help thanks in advance

Well I have been fighting exactly these same issues as above, but found this link to a program called XP_FIX.exe (140kb)

That one solved the issue for me.
