Question : VLookup error

I have a employee who is having issues with running a VLookup in Excel. He sets up the VLookup correctly, and the result is correct in the preview window, the problem arises when he attempts to "OK" out of the preview tab - it always results in an error. I have made a copy of this worksheet and tried the VLookup with the same result, I've also tried opening and running the worksheet on a different computer and again the error appears.I've attached a screenshot of the preview and resulting error. I am thinking there is a problem in this worksheet or a conflict or some sort is occurring. I must plead almost absolute ignorance in this matter, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Answer : VLookup error

Tom...

You getting this error because in L Column you have applied data validation...to check the same go to data-->validation... Now the result of this validation is Numbers only, However the result of your vlookup is text because of which you are getting this error...

Now incase if you want to remove this error you need to remove the validation from l column...post that you would be able to work without any problem...
