Question : D-Link WBR-2310 iinternet connection problem

I am having a problem connecting to the internet through a D-Link WBR-2310 router.

I am using a Compaq nx 6110  (# 1) with a Broadcom 440 10/100 integrated Controller.

The laptop in question can "see" the router but not connect to it or the internet.

The router can "see" the laptop

I also have an identical nx 6110 (# 2)  and it can connect to the router and the internet.

I have compared the Broadcom 440's settings between the two nx6110s and the are identical.

I have deleted the dirvers and reinstalled them, I have booted into safe mode and deleted the drivers and re-installed the drivers.

The same problem applies when I try to connect wirelesly

I have disabled all security on the router and the fire wall on the nx6110 #1

I have run a virus scan and a malware scan on nx6110 #1

Both nx6110s run Windows XP sp3

I have two other desktop PCs and they also don't have any problems connecting to the internet.

Any help would be appreciated.

PS

I am a home user nx6110 #1 belongs to my daughter and the rest are mine and my wife's.

Answer : D-Link WBR-2310 iinternet connection problem

Heh, be sure is Comodo.
Repairing windows, restarting services and many other things didn't fix it for me. I fixed it by using a repair utility of Comodo and enabling traffic. I ended up with a format and fresh install, after loosing almost 2 days to figure it out. Comodo is very nasty to remove, their forum is full of removing/uninstalling problems.
