Question : Data copy script

Hi Experts.

For better or worse, I live off my thumb-drive.  I naturally modify data and add/update apps on the thumb-drive while I am at work or at a client's site.  When I get home, I would like to sync that thumb-drive with a folder I have on a server but only the data that has changed.  Likewise when I work from home and modify data on the server, I would like to sync the data the other way.

I figured there was probably a robocopy command that with the proper syntax, I could put into a batch file and begin the sync but I am only guessing.  I don't know the easiest way to accomplish the sync so I am asking the group what they recommend.  Mapping drives or changing the drive letter in the script is fine.

Please provide your recommendation with the appropriate explanation.  Thanks experts!

Answer : Data copy script

is college basketball anything like rugny, or would that be basekball...

there are third party tools out there that do a very good job...

have a look at http://www.goodsync.com/

or the free one from Microsoft (worth getting just because it is free from MS ) is synctoy - the one I use - and works pretty well (bit basic) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C26EFA36-98E0-4EE9-A7C5-98D0592D8C52&displaylang=en

You do need a synch folder on your office machine - that is when the script might be handy to make sure all the things you want to share is in that sync folder...
