Question : Unable to reconnect Mailbox in Exchange 2003
|
|
Hi all. I have and Exchange 2003 Server. The admin of this server was playing around with profiles, usernames etc. In the process of his experimentation in the Exchange System Manager under First Storage Group Mailboxes for a few users there are two entries/mailboxes with the exact same name.
One entry has a red X marked on it (which holds all of the old e-mail) and the other entry is the active one which seems to be collecting all the new e-mail. When I try to reconnect the old entry it fails when I am presented to enter object name "An object with the following name cannot be found" My question is how can I merge all of the old e-mail with the account marked with a red X into the current mailbox. The mailbox labelled with a red X has a value for Last logged by S-1-25-8963-etc
any ideas

I'm just guessing here but could it be some conflict between the to mailboxes
You could try to export out the working mailbox (the one with new mail). Then delete the users mailbox from the account. Then in ESM run the Cleanup Agent on the mailbox store. Then reconnect the object with the old mail to the user account. Now import back the items from the mailbox that was working.
Kind regards Anders
