Question : Forcing a Windows 2003 Server to use NTLM rather than Kerberos
|
|
Hi, I have a requirement to install a Windows 2003 Server into a Windows 200 domain, the software running is interfacing with our PBX. I don't want to have this server in a workgroup as the support requirement is messy. In order to implement this in a domain enviornmnet I need to force the server to conduct all domain based authentication stuff using NTLM V2, does anyone know or has anyone seen this done before,
Cheers in advance

Hi Mike,
Reg the time service synchronisation, you may disable it for that paticular server. To disable the service, go to the registry key below.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\TimeProviders\N tpClient
Change the Enabled value from 1 to 0, and restart the Windows Time Service.
Now, if you want this server to sync with the time of PBX, and if there is some computer on which PBX software is running, then you may schedule net time command on the Windows 2003 server, and it will sync with the time on PBX server.
Let me know, if i may help further with the same Thanks
