Question : Windows XP serial ports configuration

HI,

I have one important application that runs well on every windows except XP
These DOS application sends data over the serial ports.

The problem I see is that it sometimes makes timeouts!
The TX is made but sometimes it seems that the driver does not work out the RX data at time and so timeouts happen which make further TX bytes absent.

I have heard that we can change the serial port timeouts or something like this on XP!?
Is this correct?
How to change?

Note:
Every serial communications parameters like baudrate and parity are ok.

Thanks in advance and hope someones knows anything to avoid me to reinstall everything this time in W2K!

Regards,
Joao

Answer : Windows XP serial ports configuration

Have you tried lowering the transmit & recieve buffers for the serial port in the device manager?
