Question : SharePoint 2007 List Item Save Conflicts

On SharePoint Server 2007, after users edit a list item, when they try to edit the item immediately after the initial edit, they get the following error message:

Save Conflict

Your changes conflict with those made concurrently by another user. If you want your changes to be applied, click Back in your Web browser, refresh the page, and resubmit your changes.
Troubleshoot issues with Windows SharePoint Services.

Due to the critical nature of the list items, users need to make edits.

Thanks in advance for any help.  We will open the doors on our intranet portal and this is one of the last few issues that we have.

Answer : SharePoint 2007 List Item Save Conflicts

I'm still getting more familiar with SharePoint 2007, but I've noticed that unless SQL Server has enough resources to run properly, that it seriously can slow down the overall perfomance.

Are you running in single server mode, server farm mode (with how many actual servers), and if single server in a farm, how much memory do you have for the SQL machine?

The scenario you mention seems that people are making edits, and then immediately going to edit the same item immediately after making that first edit. Have you tried spacing the time frame between the first and second edits to see if it is a persistent error, or does it go away if waiting a certain amount of seconds?
