Question : Domain controller crashed, backup DC not working

Please Help !
I Have an old windows 2000 network. Domain controller, Exchange and secondary domain controller are all seperate. Primary DC has failed and no one can access anything on network. It seems like Secondary Domain controller does not want to take over as DC. What do I do ?
Do people have to log off and log back in to get on with the secondary DC ?

Please Help.

This could be a DNS problem.

Is DNS on the secondary server?

If it is has the address been rolled out to the machines as a secondary DNS
