Question : Changing Computer Name in Virtual PC

Greetings!

We have installed Windows Server 2003 Standard SP2 on a Microsoft Virtual PC.  It runs fine, put when we go to My Computer Properties, the option to change the computer name is grayed out.  We need to change it since this Virtual PC was created from an image of a product machine and both will be on the network.

Any help would be appreciated!

Answer : Changing Computer Name in Virtual PC

I never tried Hyper-V and cannot recall if I seen similar issue in Virtual PC (used it very long time ago). But whatever reason is for not letting you change computer name in GUI, since you need to run sysprep to regenerate SID you equally could change the computer name.
