Question : Aix 5.2 - Changing port numbers?
I'm asking if you can change a well known port number such as ssh's 22 to one of the high ports such as 20022?
Do you have to use Smit to make the change and have it written to ODM, or can you simply edit the /etc/services file and refresh inetd?
Do you have to refresh inetd if you use Smit to make the change?
Answer : Aix 5.2 - Changing port numbers?
You should be able to add it to /etc/services and you may need to give it a unique name there (say ssh1). Then put that unique name into /etc/inetd.conf and follow the syntaxt for the service you want.
