Question : Reactivate XP serial key?

Hi,

Ive been having a problem with trying to activate my windows xp pro.  When I get to entering the serial key, type it in correct, and go to submit it, it says that It has been used too many times and that I need to call microsoft to get another one or something?  The cd im using I got from my school.  It was for the dell computers, but ive managed to use it many times on my computers at home.  So its not downloaded and im not using a cracked serial or anything.  The reason why it says it has been too many times is because Ive formated a couple computers lately and started fresh, as well with a friend.  So is my only option to call MS?  I thought I read somewhere on here that I could re activate my code through MS website but the way it was said was somewhat confusing.

Any help would be great.

Answer : Reactivate XP serial key?

Is it a legal copy for one single machine and is the single machine you're trying to put it on your machine? (Meaning that code's not being used anywhere else).  If it's being used in multiple places, you won't be able to activate it since it's pirated software.  I wouldn't suggest calling MS on that either ;-)  Sorry for the bad news.
