Question : Server 2003 R2 bogus "not enough storage" errors while adding group as local admin
|
|
We began using Server 2003 Release 2 a couple months ago. Since then, I believe I have experienced this issue on 4 or 5 servers built. After building, then adding to the domain, when I try to add a domain group to the Administrators group (while logged in as local Administrator) I receive the following error:
Windows cannot process the object with the name "" because of the following error: Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.
There is plenty of available disk space. Generally I reboot the server once or twice and am then able to add the group without error. But, I'd really like to know what is causing this. I've only ever seen it in R2.

I had forgotten about this post, sorry.
Believe it or not, the problem was that I was a member of too many groups. One of my coworkers found the KB article, but I can't find it now. I simply removed myself from a few groups and the results were immediately apparent.
